Editorial Standards

Editorial Policy

This page explains how content is created, reviewed, corrected, and maintained on Zomato Spending Calculator.

Our editorial goal

The goal of this website is to publish genuinely helpful, easy-to-understand content for people who want to estimate food delivery spending, improve budgeting awareness, and understand how delivery habits add up over time. We aim to answer real user questions clearly instead of publishing thin filler pages.

How topics are chosen

Topics are selected when they support a distinct user task around the calculator: obtaining better inputs, understanding an output, analyzing actual records, comparing delivery habits, or maintaining a simple tracker. We do not create separate pages solely for minor wording variations. If two pages solve the same problem, the preferred approach is to merge or redirect them.

How content is written

  • We aim to write in plain, human language rather than automated-sounding filler.
  • We explain what the calculator can do, where estimates depend on user inputs, and what limitations exist.
  • We avoid pretending to be an official Zomato property or claiming access to private account data we do not use.
  • We try to make each page useful on its own, not only as a doorway to another page.
  • Illustrative budgets and projections state their assumptions and are not presented as typical outcomes.
  • Statistics, product-status claims, and research findings require a reliable source; otherwise they are removed.

Sources and calculations

When a page needs an external factual claim, we prefer official documentation, government material, recognized research organizations, or primary research. We do not treat an unsourced secondary article as proof of a claim. Links are added near the claim when a source is needed.

Calculator examples are checked against the formulas documented on the methodology page. Actual-transaction results are calculated from the rows a user provides. Projections are labeled because future order behavior can change.

Software-assisted drafting

Software tools, including AI-assisted tools, may help with outlines, editing, code, or quality checks. Areeb Saleem remains responsible for reviewing what is published. We do not permit invented sources, fabricated statistics, made-up credentials, or unverified claims simply because a drafting tool produced them.

Review and updates

We review pages when the tool changes, when user feedback identifies a problem, when a referenced service changes, or when a page needs clearer assumptions or structure. A “last updated” date is changed only after a genuine review or material revision; we do not update dates merely to make content look fresh.

Corrections policy

If a factual issue, misleading explanation, calculation error, privacy concern, or broken page is reported, we review the relevant evidence and correct the page when warranted. Visitors can use the contact page for correction requests. We do not promise a fixed response time.

Independence and transparency

Zomato Spending Calculator is an independent educational website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Zomato. We keep this distinction visible across the site because clarity and trust matter more than trying to look official.

Financial examples

Content about budgeting, saving, or long-term cost is educational. It does not recommend investments, promise returns, or replace advice tailored to a reader's circumstances. We focus on arithmetic, spending awareness, and record keeping.
